LevelBeacon guide

Choosing timeframes for LevelBeacon

Timeframe changes more than chart speed. LevelBeacon uses timeframe-aware behavior, so learn the relevant MTF group and choose a pace that supports disciplined execution.

Signal behavior changes with chart speed

LevelBeacon does not apply one identical Setup recipe to every timeframe. The production engine uses timeframe-aware setup filters, cooldowns and level persistence. That is why a 1m chart should not be expected to behave like a 15m chart.

ChartBest useRelevant MTF groupPractical note
1mFast execution / experienced monitoring1m · 5m · 15mMost noise; strict filtering and more chance of reacting emotionally.
5mBalanced active trading5m · 15m · 1HStrong default starting point for learning LevelBeacon.
15mSlower, clearer structure15m · 1H · 4HFewer decisions, more time to evaluate context.
>15mBroader context / slower decisions1H · 4H · 1D for OpportunityUsable, but do not assume the same tuning, signal density or validation as the core 1m/5m/15m Gold workflows.

Why start learning on 5m or 15m?

They give enough candles to see LevelBeacon react without requiring second-by-second decisions. You can watch price approach the active level, see Strength separate and compare the relevant timeframes before deciding.

Why 1m deserves extra caution

The 1m chart contains more micro-noise, faster changes and more correlated adjacent conditions. LevelBeacon responds by being selective, but the trader still has to avoid overtrading. If you find yourself taking every small movement, move to 5m or 15m until your process is stable.

Do not compare signal counts across timeframes as if they should match

A 1m, 5m and 15m chart are observing different candle structures and use different setup gates. It is normal for one timeframe to produce a Setup while another stays WATCHING.

Markets and feeds matter too

LevelBeacon can be applied across supported markets on standard time-based charts, but performance should not be assumed equal across Gold, forex pairs, crypto, indices or stocks. The strongest historical development work was centered on Gold/XAUUSD, especially 1m, 5m and 15m workflows. Treat every new market/feed as something to observe and evaluate in observation or paper trading before considering live use.

Recommended learning path

Start with XAUUSD 5m or 15m using one consistent TradingView feed. Learn the behavior there before jumping between symbols, feeds and timeframes.

What about 2m, 3m, 10m or higher charts?

The grouping uses ranges: up to 1m → 1m/5m/15m; above 1m through 5m → 5m/15m/1H; above 5m through 15m → 15m/1H/4H; above 15m → 1H/4H/1D for Opportunity. For example, 3m uses the second group and 10m uses the third.

These ranges explain the code’s grouping; they are not evidence of equal suitability on every chart. Above 15m, Setup uses a different, simpler rule. Start by observing one consistent feed on 5m or 15m, and assess the behavior before risking capital.
