LevelBeacon guide

Common mistakes

Most LevelBeacon confusion comes from mixing layers that answer different questions. Use this guide when the chart seems inconsistent or an alert does not behave the way you expected.

Mistake 1 — treating Bull/Bear Strength as probability

Bull 70% is not a 70% chance of a winning long. Strength is directional context. Use it with location and MTF alignment.

Mistake 2 — entering because Strength is high while price is extended

A large directional reading can occur after price has already moved. Chasing far from the blue level can produce poor reward-to-risk even if direction remains correct.

Mistake 3 — believing an Opportunity alert is a trade signal

Opportunity means price is near the level with minimum Strength, MTF alignment and matching role. It tells you to evaluate the chart. It does not change WATCHING to ACTIVE and it does not draw a marker.

Mistake 4 — expecting every Opportunity to become a Setup

The strict Setup engine has additional timeframe-specific confirmation and quality requirements. Many valid Opportunities do not lead to a Setup marker.

Mistake 5 — using WATCHING as an exit

WATCHING only means no strict setup is currently latched active. It is not an exit command. Manage trades using your predefined stop, target and structural rules.

Mistake 6 — assuming live Strength must match ACTIVE state

ACTIVE is latched from a setup event; Strength is live. They can temporarily disagree without the indicator malfunctioning.

Mistake 7 — requiring all six trend dots to match

Use the relevant three-timeframe group for your chart. All-six alignment is strong context, but it is not required for every Opportunity and is not a universal Setup rule.

Mistake 8 — comparing different data feeds

FOREXCOM, TVC and broker-specific feeds can differ in candles and volume. That can change pivots, levels and timing. Compare like with like.

Mistake 9 — changing visual settings to “improve accuracy”

History counts, colors, label size and marker visibility are presentation controls. They do not become a better strategy because the chart looks cleaner.

Mistake 10 — overtrading the 1-minute chart

1m is faster and noisier. If you cannot wait for the level and confirmation, use 5m or 15m until your process is stable.

A useful rule

If your interpretation requires ignoring the level, Strength, relevant MTF group or confirmation, you are probably forcing the trade instead of using LevelBeacon as designed.
